Question about securing windows from spyware/etc

In a nutshell, if I log onto my system as an administrator with a super strong password, something along the lines of 30 characters, etc, and create a default user account for my wife and myself to use that has no write privelages at all, would that prevent spyware from installing itself onto the harddrive?

For example:
Default user: can log on and thats it,, then I manually assign the ability to access world of warcraft, and firefox for internet viewing. a media player for watching streaming videos or dvds, etc.

But not allow the user the rights to change any of the settings, delete any files, move any files, or even view several files, would this prevent spyware or viruses, even if they happened across a maliciously coded website?
