<-- gaming newbie...

i am interested in trying out Second Life. i know it's been out for a while but i can't seem to find a store online that sells it.

do you just sign up for it online at Linden Lab's website and pay them online?

OR

do you go to a B&M store to buy the game?

TIA

-- also, if you guys have any other recommendations/advice for this particular game, i'll be grateful.

Register(including subscribe and setup billing) and download app from website.
Don't think they have physical package for sale in b&m stores, but if they did, you should be able to find out on their site or even call up their service dept.

Cheers.

It's not really a game, just a 3D sex chatroom for furries and such.

What, other than seeing it mentioned all over the place by clueless old media reporters, makes you think that there is any there there?

yeah it isn't really a game
its like real life in a game, except with the power of the internet everyone lives out real life like they really want to
which is having e-sex with everyone and everything or harassing people nonstop

its good for a laugh, but not much of a game

I had never heard of this game on any gaming site or forum until now, but have seen numerous references to it in the mainstream media for some reason. :p

It's free... Go to the site and download the client. The only things that cost money are the in-game fake items and such. They have a working internal economy in that damn game.

And yes, it's just a 3D sex chat-room for people and furries. In my opinion, it's only fun to troll once in a while... :p

If you're halfway decent at scripting for it you can actually make good money (real money).
