question about SDRAM prices

Hi everyone,
I hope I am posting in the right place. If not plz dont flame me. I see the prices of SDRAM just going up every day. IS there any good reason why thats happening. Also anyone has an idea whether its going to go up further or drop down. I plan to buy some SDRAM but cant decide whether to wait or buy now.
thanks

For the last few months, SDRAM sold BELOW the amount it costs to produce. Thus manufacturers lost money on every unit sold. Now prices are rising in an attempt to make a profit. I don't see them dropping to the level they were at anytime soon.

For more discussion, there have been dozens of threads on this same topic over the past few weeks.

thanks, I just read the earlier post. Darn so no hope that prices will fall anytime soon ehh. This suxs big time.
Thanks anyways guys.

They will oscillate, some days may be a bit better than others to buy. However, I doubt you will be seeing $1 price tags again (at least not anytime soon). You can still get generic RAM real cheap. It is mostly the brand-name stuff such as Crucial that has tripled in price.

I think it will go up a bit longer, level off and then go down in 4-6 months. This happens every year or two because of oversupply and undersupply, you know, supply and demand? If you don't need it too badly wait, and if you do, buy, it's not that expensive. It's been much higher in the past.
