question about SBC/yahoo dsl

the promo they have now requires a 1 yr contract. think it's like $200-300 early termination fee.

not sure if it's changed, but when it was pacific bell, had dsl and cancelled before the year was up.. never got charged for that termination fee. could be different with sbc.

well, never asked them if we could get off without being charged the early termination fee. was actually expecting to get billed for it. just that they never did. they'll probably say that the early termination fee applies and that there's no way around it.

I think maybe a LONNNNGGGG while back they let you go month-by-month, but you would have to pay for setup and hardware whereas if you signed a contract, it was included free.
