Question about SATA hard drive

I installed two SATA hard drives. Two power cable options:

(1) For each HD I use a separate SATA power output from PSU
Involving one more cable, but maybe more stable?

(2) Use a Y-shaped adapter to let 2 HDs to share one PSU output
Involving less cable, but maybe less stable?

Please compare these two connecting options. Thanks.

BTW, I am using Antec True550 PSU

Using different cables from the PSU, versus a Y splitter off one, probably won't make much difference. They are all coming off the same rail.

We are talking about SATA power cables, which are different from SATA data cables.

Only one SATA drive can be attached to each SATA "port" on the motherboard, or controller card.

SATA drives also need to be connected to the PSU, however. Just as you can split a molex connector with a "Y" cable, you can also do the same with a SATA power adapter. It plugs into a standard 4 pin molex PSU connector, and provides 2 SATA power connectors.
