I just got me one of these boards thinking my last Abit bit the big one, but it didn't it was my chip. So I have an ABIT KT133A mobo I'm going to use in my new rig. What I'm wondering is, can I run my new Tbird at 133(266)FSB without unlocking or will it have to be unlocked in order for me to get that wonderful bit of extra bandwidth.

Important System Rig stuff:
Abit KT133A
Tbird 900
Taisol heatsink(forgot model number)

Thank you

If you run your 100MHz FSB Tbird in a KT133A @133Mhz FSb it would run 9x133=1200MHz... if you can get it to run this fast then yes you can run it without unlocking it... the chances however seems small I'm afraid

Without unlocking the mulitplier you will be running it at 9x133=1200MHz if you try and use the 133/266MHz FSB which is rather unlikely to be successful.

Unlocking the multiplier would be a simple job though, and then u could drop the multiplier down to 7X and run it on the 133/266MHz FB for 931MHz which it should do easily.
