Question about round IDE cables.....

I ordered some from svc.com and they are coming in today. I bought the ATA100/133 18" ones. Will they work with dvd-rom drives since they're 80-conductor, 40 pin IDE cables? SVC's description says it supports ATA66/100/133 but aren't dvd-rom drives ATA33 still? Description also says "harddrives" with no mentioning of other forms of drives.

IDE cables are ide cables, no matter which way you look at them.

Yep, they work. Just make sure you only go 18", anything longer can cause noise and cause data corruption, although not very likely these days with better drive electronics. IDE does error detection not error correction, remember.
