Question about RMA'ing Defective RAM back to Kingston. HELP!!

thatsright

Okay, I have a defective stick of Kingston Hyper X PC3500 512MB. I think it would prolly be quicker to get a replacement from Kingston than from where I got it, as they offer no Cross-Ship option. But a few questions for anyone has used the Kingston Cross Ship option.

Anyone know if they would send me a 're-certified/refurbished' DDR Module? Know I ran Memtest-86 for a few hours today, and its definitely defective, but what if I send the defective stick back to them; what if they test it and say its good, would they charge me for the replacement DIMM?

And do I have to pay for them to send me the replacement module?

Thanks

I have RMA'd Kingston Ram before. easy and no hassle. I got a new ram stick. It was a registered 100 SDR 512 stick so it was a little while ago.

They may be sending refurbs, which really doesn't matter. Refurb ram is just ram that they got back from a user, tested it, and found nothing wrong with it. it is not usually cost efficent to repair ram.
