Question about rig I just built Re: Processor speed *UPDATED*

Hi, I just built a rig with a 2.8C (800 mhz with HT). In the BIOS, its set to 14x100 FSB and HT is on. Intel's CPU identifier reads it as 1.4 ghz and says it should be at 2.8ghz (which makes sense). In WcpuID there are two processors listed, both at 1.4 ghz. Should it be like this, or should both processors be at 2.8 ghz? When I set the FSB to 200 mhz, the computer does not boot.
Any advice is appreciated.

Let me guess - without PC3200 I can't run at 800 mhz, just 533 max?
So I set my FSB to 133 and it's running at 1.8ghz with HT so there are two processors at 1.8 ghz (so says WcpuID)
Is that the most I can get out of this?

There you go. PC2700 is only rated to run at 166 Mhz. You need to get some PC3200 to take advantage of the 200 Mhz FSB. In the meantime, set your FSB to 166 and everything should work.

Reset the bios and let it handle it on its own.

It will use a ratio between the cpu speed and RAM like 5:4 or something. I've run a P4 1.7 @ 1.7ghz with PC133mhz and it needed 400mhz FSB. Reset the bios and try it again.

Hello again. I got some PC3200 RAM and put it into this computer and set the BIOS FSB for 200 MHZ but the system still would not boot. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm running out of ideas. The computer also doesn't boot at 170 or 160 mhz FSB.

Edit: The motherboard is an ASUS P4GE-VM if that helps.
