***Edit***wrong forum. I couldve sworn that I posted this in the console gaming forum, but apparently I didn't.

What is the highest difficulty setting you can beat it on and get the good ending?

I always thought it was notoriously difficult, as I can't even get to the last round on normal. I never understood why it had 4 difficulty levels. Shinobi iii as well as legions were a lot easier but it sucks that there were two shinobi games that were never released or leaked... although I'm not sure if the first design for the Saturn one was ever complete. I do know that there exist two mostly different final versions of shinobi iii, but the final of the original has never been leaked. I'm worried that sega actually produced it and then destroyed them all instead of shipping them which means it may neverbe leaked.

It bothers me that all of these compilations are released and then they never include the finished originals. I think Sega should make a compilation of all of their unfinished work and all of their finished but unreleased work.

Clearly Revenge of Shinobi was a case of one frutrated member of the 99% of good, hard working ninjas fighting back against his oppressors in the 1% of wealthy evil ninjas. He voted with throwing stars. All those regular ninjas he had to fight on his way to the 1% ninja? They were Republicans.

It all makes sense now. Shinobi is colored black. Just like GUESS WHO Obama. Also, Shinobi is a game about cutting and killing stuff on the Genesis, much in how Obama has been waging war on the holy book the Bible, going so far as to suggest that Evolution is how we were created and not the result of a talking snake and apples and stuff. Shinobi uses swords to cut down his enemies, just like Obama does pictured here.

The reason we rarely see it is likely do to his stealthy ninja cunning, like when he hid the fact that he has no birth certificate. Then Sega's second console bid in the Saturn failed, AGAIN like Obama (come this November) so in a way, OP's post is a sensible analogy on the president.

I came in here expecting an exhilarating history lesson of gold-standard pre-federal Japanese culture and vigilante justice which created a culture of non-existent crime and economic liveliness.

I want a new Shinobi game like the PS2 version. That game may have had a flew slight flaws, but it was pretty awesome!

EDIT:

Maybe we can even get another television commercial with Hiro saying, "Shinobi's back!"

Shadow Dancer was sweet. is revenge the one with the fake spiderman and batman boss and the swirly hair boss at the end? i hated that

I liked Shadow Dancer better too, mainly because it was easier despite it having one hit deaths. There are a nutload of freebies in Shadow Dancer, and the difficulty only ratchets up at the last boss. The rest of the game is a cinch on normal difficulty.
As for your question... yes, Revenge had marvel comics characters before Sega was forced to take them out but the final boss was always the same (other than that he made some terrible laugh on the Sega CD Arcade Classics Collection). The final boss in Revenge of is also the 2nd to last boss in the Return of Ninja Master. However, his difficulty is much toned down and there is no wall that you have to stop from crushing Joe Musashi's lover. Originally, there was supposed to be some blonde-haired lady in Shinobi III Return of the Ninja Master, but they cut down on the story for the one that actually shipped.
