question about returns to Fry's

I bought a combo at Fry's consisting of a P4 2.4 and a ECS mobo...can u return the mobo for store credit, at the reduced price which according to the reciept is $49 or do i have to return both the CPU and Mobo?

I'm pretty sure you can return just the mobo for $49. If you can't... then just go up there with no receipt and ask for store credit - i've done it a few times on things I lost the receipts for - worked most of the time.

i highly doubt they will let you return half the combo. without a receipt what they will do is look up the serial and they can tell you exactly how much, where, and when you paid for it.

if the combo prices are less then the regular prices then you are fuxored. my guess is their regular price ofr the cpu is more.

I've tried, the problem was I got an ECS K7S5A and XP 2000+ for $79. I noticed the K7S5A Pro was the same price as the regular K7S5A, but they wouldn't give me the K7S5A Pro. So I went back, tried to return it, they wouldn't let me, even though both of the mobos were the exact same price!

well i guess its worth a shot...cause i cant even get this motherboard to get power....it truly sucks...

otherwise i gotta return it all and that would really suck...i want the fast computer i paid for!!

Oops... you didn't say before that the mobo was defective. Then yes, they will accept a return on a single part of a combo as long as it is within the 30 days edit: and you have the original receipt. But not for store credit, just an exchange for a working board of the same model.
