Question about replacement battery for Macbook Pro...

Hello,

I am trying to buy a replacement battery on eBay for my MacBook Pro. My MBP was purchased a few years ago- the 'Discrete' line, which was the model RIGHT BEFORE the unibody Macbooks came out.

Specs are as follows:

Refurbished MacBook Pro 2.6GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Part Number: FB512LL/A
Accessory Kit
2.6GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

SuperDrive 8x (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
Backlit Keyboard (English) / User's Guide
2GB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM - 2x1GB
200GB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200 rpm
MacBook Pro 17-inch Hi-Resolution LED Widescreen Display

I'm about to purchase on ebay the following battery :

http://cgi.ebay.com/New-battery-Lap...09911?pt=Laptop_Batteries&hash=item5193c1e957

for (A1189, MA458LL/A, MA458, MA458*/A, MA458G/A, MA458J/A)

This IS the proper battery, right?

Thank you,

C

i don't have old model but if it's not hard open up the back cover open it and check the battery's model. also check "the macbook identifier" and use that to get right battery on ebay.

also in detail system spec, click on power and it'll tell you the part# this might help.

okay i guess i can do that. i was reluctant to do just that b/c it would mean i would have to shut down and restart my computer all over again...

will do.

just ordered a few minutes ago.. the seller was in California, the same state from where I am. So I hope it comes in the next two or three days.
