Question about removing Athlon64 CPU (socket939)

Yesterday I took off the HSF to clean it and apply Arctic Silver. Then I tried to do the same w/ the CPU (Athlon64 socket939), but after pulling up the little lever, the cpu still wouldn't come out. I pulled the little lever until it wouldn't go anymore too, but the cpu was just stuck in there. I tried to use my nails to pry it out and whatnot, but had no luck, and I ended up cleaning it while it was still attached.

Anyone else have trouble like this? Are these cpu's generally difficult to take out? Thanks in advance.

mine slips right in and out. never had a prblem like this before tho.

is it really all that smart to clean it while in the socket??? i mean isnt as5 conductive?
