Question about reinstalling Windows 10

So I have a thumb drive that has Windows 10 on it, made using the microsoft media creation tool. I have used that to reinstall windows 10 on my pc. Can I use that same one to reinstall windows 10 on a different pc which is a laptop? This would be on a new laptop and not sure what the product key is.

Yes but I would not. Best to put an updated version of the install files on the drive using the media creation web site . These files install windows 10. The activation of the new install is another matter, not covered by just installing the OS. If the laptop OS was activated and there have been no changes to its hardware then a fresh install should not affect activation.

For a new install, download a clean version and install from there. Laptop's usually have a partition that you can access it via Fxx (8-12), and do a clean install with the factory image. If for any reason you do not have that, you should have a sticker on the back with the s/n. If none of previous, you could ask the manufacturer for your original s/n or ask for a image on a disk.
