Im trying to install RH 6.2. Im using a D-link dfe530tx nic. When I install I choose expert install( I want to choose what packages to install since my hd is only 800mb). However when I try to install the nic, it doenst let me choose a driver for the card(dlink comes with linux drivers) and the card isnt listed. is there anywauy that i can get it to install the drivers during installation? I tried to use different drivers, ( a netgear card I think) and it works fine, but I would rather install the exact drivers to prevent future hassle

Use Red Hat 7.0 ...
It's a graphical install all the way (auto detecting EVERYTHING !!)... easy peasy as 1-2-3

RH7 does not detect the Promise Ultra66 Card... Mandrake does and in expert mode will allow you to choose your packages as well... Much more friendly to novices as well as experienced users than RH... My opinion...

IMHOTEPMP,

I have the same NIC in my machines, and I have installed RH 6.1 and 7.0. Both releases were able to recognize the NIC without adding any specific drivers. I don't recall seeing a screen to select drivers for the NIC, so I am not sure what to tell you. I am very sure that you won't need to add drivers for RH to recognize and use this NIC. Try doing a workstation install, which should get you in under the 800MB limit, and then use RPM to add/remove the components you want.
