question about rechargable batteries for DC

alright, so i have this DC (fuji finepix 2650), and i also bought some rechargable batteries (Ni-MH, 1.2v 1500mAh AA) for it along with a charger.

my question is, if i were to unplug the charger while it was still in progress of charging, would i shorten the life of the batteries?

i had unplugged it at like 10 hours (i charge while i sleep) and the little light was still on. i looked at the charger and saw it says 13 hour, so i quickly plug it back in. 6 hours later the light was still on, even though the batteries i assume were fully charged, is this bad?

That used to be the case with Nickel Cadmium, but with
Metal Hydride batteries that is no longer the case.
(Nic-cads would retain a memeory of the last charge)

Your problem may have been the Charger Timer circuit just
getting lost or over heated.

Try them in the Camera. It they do not function, then suspect
the charger being bad.

Those NIMH chargers get mighty hot, and I find that even though there is no memory effect like with NICD, the timer does not work 100% well, i'm sure you'll be fine.
