question about RAM

Hey guys,

I just had some questions that maybe you can help me with.

I have an AMD64 3200+ processor with ASUS K8V Deluxe K8t800 motherboard.
It already has 2 sticks of 512MB RAM (dual-channel memory mode).

-If I purchase a 1GB RAM stick, is it that simple to just install the RAM and everything's done? or do you think I'll need to do anything to my CMOS setup?

-Also, does it make THAT MUCH of a difference if I install an extra 1GB RAM?

the prices I'm looking at for these RAM sticks are $80-90 which isn't bad at all.

thanks

it is not recommended to have 3 sticks, especially if they're different sizes.. either get 2 more 512mb sticks or get 2x1024mb
