Hi,

I'm currently building a P4 socket 478 computer, and I've decided to go with the Asus P4C800E-deluxe. now i havent bought the thing yet, but i've been doing some research and got stumped on this one.

Basically, the p4c800e-deluxe is listed to accept pc3200 ram. I was looking into buying the OCZ 4200 and it supports up to 533 bus. From anandtech's tests, they test this ram with the P4C800E-deluxe. Can the 533 bus side of the ram be only achieved by over overclocking the bus on the mobo? IF I plan to not overclock, would my best and only option be to get a pc3200 type ram? If so, can anyone recommend me what would be your ideal 512x2 ram for gaming? Preferably dual channel.

Thanks for your input.

You must overclock your proccesor to achieve higher than DDR400

Some good ram right now, is the kingston hyper x Pc3200 ram in the hot deals forum $90 a stick for ram that runs at 2-2-2-5 at ddr400

Can't get any better than that

Not sure it's the same as what's on hot deals, but Anandtech real-time pricing has Kingston PC-3200 256MB HyperX for 74.00 at GameVE as of 11/7/04
