Question about Raid Hot Spare security

On a Raid 5 array with a hotspare I've cleaned the freespace on the active drives, but if one of those had failed and the hotspare had rebuilt it how would I go about cleaning the hot spare?

Should I even be worried about this?

Depends on the type of data, but bear in mind the hotspare is just going to have partial streams, not entire files. In most cases that is sufficent, but obviously not in all.
