I've been a member for 10 years and have only recently found the need to put another user on my "ignore" list. The problem is that this user's threads continue to show up as I enter the forums ... his posts show up as being hidden but his incessant threads continue to show up.

My question is: Is it technically feasible to TOTALLY block another user (to include their threads) ... as if they don't exist?

Thanks ...

While it may be possible, the fact that other users are able to post in that thread makes it possible that there could be relevant posts.

Is it that hard to actually ignore (in your own mind) threads that you do not want to enter?

Just tell yourself that DO NOT CLICK on or read the title for those threads created by a given user.

It would be very straight forward to implement this as a Chrome plugin. I can do it if there's enough interest. Obviously this won't help if you're not a Chrome user as I have much better things to do with my time than learn to make Failfox plugins. But let me know.

Whats worse is it doesnt block quotes either. Most of the annoying trolls get quoted alot. The anandtech ignore feature is pretty much useless because of this.

How do you ignore someone? I dont see the button. I see the reply-with-quote, multi-quote, quick-reply, and quote-selected. I see the report button. And the button for single post display. That's all I see in my opera browser.

Look towards the upper left corner, above the forum sidebar, you'll see User CP. Click that, then find ignore list on the left edge.

I found it! Oh goodie. I'm gonna test it out on all the people spewing (dis)information when they cannot possibly have the facts to back it up. With all the fud there is just too much to keep track of...

Does chorme have a greasemonkey add-on? Making a greasemoneky addon would be pretty simple. I've done a few on AT for hiding stickies and avatars and such.
