Question about PS2 standby

Do you leave it standby (With the red light on) or do you turn off the power in the back? I've always turned the power off in the back, but apparently, it saves energy and time to just leave the PS2 on Standby.

I say if you play it every day mine as well leave it on standby but I hardly ever played it so I just turned it off in the back also after putting it on standby.

I just leave it on standby. I figure that standby draws less than 5 W of power. Not enough for me to be too concerned with.

turn it off, it does not use less energy in standby then it does when it is unplugged, which is basically what that switch does.

I used to turn it off in the back, but where it sits in the entertainment center now it's harder for me to fit my hand back there. My kids still do sometimes, which often wiggles the defective component cable loose, so I encourage them to use standby mode instead.

What does it matters ?
It just needs 8.5V so don't compare it to an air conditioner or heater!
I used to turn it off at night when i want to go to bed,but for the day time it is always either standby or on cuz my brothers won't let it alone.

I always just left it in standby. Right now the power strip it's plugged into is off because I'm never home to play it.
My first year of college I was luckily if anyone even turned it off. Nobody grasped the concept of having to hold the power button down to turn it off so most of the time everyone just reset it.
