question about Prague

Going to Prague in about a week and looking for a place to stay. I want to stay near the night life so does anyone know where the lively area is?

staromestske namesti.

you can walk to tons of places from here and it's really where we found the most night life. i think this is where we stayed, it's only a couple of blocks from the center of old town square and they have breakfast every morning but beware they don't have an elevator. there's lots of cheap places to eat nearby and a grocery store not too far away where we bought staples like bottled water and snacks.

Beautiful and fun city, look at the Let's Go book for this cool Hostel run by 2 women, can't remember its name now. The place was far from the city, but one of the best hostels I've ever been to. It was far from the main city so you might dislike that, but hard to beat 4 bucks a night with cheap laundry service (who folds too) and great food. It had good trolley service so the distance wasn't bad.
