PPTP is nice and all ( I really REALLY need to find something else besides the MS Client for security reasons😱) but my main issue is the fact that all the traffic from the PPTP client side is being routed over the PPTP, even their internet traffic.
At least it seems like that is the case.
Basically my router has issues with acting as a remote IPsec server and it looks like I need to stick to PPTP. It can handle a site to site scenario, so until I can put an IPsec-capable router at the other site (I jsut have to deliver it and set it up) I will be using PPTP.
My question:
Because my router allows for explicit rules applied to the PPTP tunnel, what would be the affect of blocking every protocol besides those that need to be used between sites?
Would blocking everything that isn't needed between sites have a postive affect? would the traffic then get routed out of the clients own internet connection (cable/dsl) ?
