Question about PowerLine Adapter Setup...

Currently I have two Netgear PowerLine XAV101 adapters:

Cable>Cable Modem>Router>XAV101 in Office>XAV101 in Living Room>GF's Laptop.

I want to purchase an Internet capable TV and Blu-Ray player, so this is my plan:

Cable>Cable Modem>Router>>XAV101 in Office>XAV101 in Living Room>Switch>>GF's Laptop & HDTV

My question is: I assume it is fine to simply throw any old switch into the mix, even with a PowerLine adapter?

Yeah it should be fine. Mine is set up like this and working

Modem in downstairs -> Router -> Powerline adapter -> Powerline adapter upstairs in my room -> Switch -> Xbox 360, Laptop, and Desktop all working perfect.

yup its a straightforward bridge. just remember the older non-mimo designs perform at about 80-90% packet loss (udp) so that 200mbps rating is more like 10-20megabit.

i do exactly what you do. switches every 30-50ft across the house - 7 of them.

The one I have is about a year old...no idea if it's non-mimo or not.
