Question about Powered by ATI 8500LE 128mb retail cards

I was looking to get an 8500LE 128mb card. Is there a difference between the retail ATI cards and the retail cards made by Powercolor and Sapphiretech?

Yes, there's a difference. The RADEON 8500LE is clocked lower (250/250) then the retail Built by ATI RADEON 8500 (275/275). Alsways stick to Built by ATI products for performance and reliability.

Is the difference between 250 and 275 really noticeable? Particularly since my cpu isn't particularly fast, T-Bird 900. I wish finding those ATI retail 8500LEs weren't so hard right now.

Roughly 8% performance difference between the two, not much at all in other words.
With a TBird 900MHz both will perform identically however as you'll be processor limited.

Keep in mind Saphire sell's R8500's clocked at 275/275, 250/250, 250/275, and 250/200.... quite a wide range.
