the numbers that indicate the +12v rail, +5 volt rail +3.3 rail, and vcore voltage. What are these numbers suppose to mean? Are these numbers suppose to be above the the rail. for instance if the +12v rail i am geting about 12.159. for +5volt i am gettnig below 5 volts. I am runing a althon 1.4ghz in 250 watts. are these numbers to low?

No theyr'e within spec, but I would get a higher power supply for that rig setup.
AMD recommends a 450w for a 1.4 gig

Are you sure? Thats a load of crap, any enermax or sparkle can run a 1.4 on a 350 watter without a hitch.

Guys, please don't say "1.4 Gig", it hurts my ears. It's Ghz, not "Gigs". Gigs is used to describe size, not speed.

Also, don't say "faster speed" - it's "higher speed" 🙂

before i kinda got worried cause i was playing around in the bios, and i thought i would try 180mhz fsb, wow was that a mistake. comp wont boot, when it did finally boot, it gave me error beeps on no video card. thought i fried the video card. used it in another comp, video card was fine. but the beeps continued on my 1.4ghz. so i got worried and took everything out and put it back, no luck, until finalyl later it booted and the video worked. so i thought it would of just been my 250 watt p0wer supply acting up. any thoughts? temps under load is 50c with mc462 swiftech heatsink and 7v delta fan. the case only contains 2 fans,, the hsf and the fan behind the power supply. is a open case with only 2 fan better than a closed case with plenty? let me hear your thoughts thanx for ur I/O

You're getting good advice so far. I'll just say this **clears throat** Take it from someone who did the exact same thing as you're doing right now;

If you don't know "what this does" in the bios, don't mess with it. Period. Resetting the CMOS is not fun when you've already got everything up and running and you really don't know what you are doing yet. That was me in January 2001. Some BIOS settings are pretty much self-explanatory. Others...well, RTFM first. Good luck my friend!

Gig doesn't describe size, it's kinda like slang computer talk. There is gigabit ethernet, gigahertz chips, and gigabytes of storage, and probably some other stuff.

Anyways, I thought a gig was some kind of lame dance, or at least that's what I learned in my music appreciation class, wow did that class suck.
