Hi Guys!

I added an 80mm fan to my system this morning to see if it made much difference on the temps in my case. After rebooting, I checked the mainboard module in SiSoft Sandra to see what the temps were showing. While there, i noticed my Power Supply readings seemed a little odd. Can you give me some assistance in deciphering the info with a brief explanation of what each setting is/does?

here's what I'm shoing at this moment:

CPU Core Voltage: 1.60V (Duron 750 - that's correct)
Aux Voltage: 2.48V (Have no idea)
+3.3V Voltage: 3.38V (looks about right)
+5V Voltage: 5.00V (On the money!)
+12V Voltage: 11.98V (close enough?)
-12V Voltage: 0.48V (What?!? Does that seem really odd to anyone else?!?)
-5V Voltage: -5.56V (Looks about right)
-5V Standby Voltage: 4.97V (Close enough?)
Battery Voltage: 3.39V (Not sure, but I think that seems okay)

Can someone help me out and give me a breakdown on this? The -12V reading concerns me. Everything else seems about right, but that one isn't even close.

I cracked open the case and the label on the PSU states it is a HiVision Max-300P. I have not noticed any specific problems relating to power with my system. Honestly, my system runs fairly well, although I do get the occasional lock-up related to my video card (32MB Radeon VE, which is not quite compatible with my PC-Chips M810LMR system board. I know it is video related because the system has on-board video and the lockups did not occur until I added the AGP card. Checked the PC-Chips website and found a list of approved video cards and this was not listed at all. I fixed the problem slightly by turning the AGP slor speed down to 2x, but it still has issues on occasion)

Anyone care to offer any ideas/suggestions? Thanks!

Anyone?!? I'm sure SOMEONE in this forum knows at least a little about power supplies and can explain the power supply readings to me, especially the odd -12V reading. Please?!? pretty please?!? ...with sugar on top?

Okay, okay...this was really just a >>> BUMP <<< ;)

Is it possible that it is NOT an invalid reading from the sensor? I think my BIOS may give me a reading on those settings, but I'm not sure. I'll check when I reboot later. what does each of the Voltage readings mean? In other words, the 5V power is used for _____, while the -5 is used for _______. I'll gladly read up on this myself if someone knows of a good link that will explain this to me in easy to understand detail. This isn't really a problem I am experiencing (unless that -12V reading IS correct, in which case, I'm sure that will be a problem at some point) but I'm interested in understanding so that when i read other messages advising to check the voltage on the +5, etc., I understand WHY that is important.
