Power supply fan on a Dell PC (that I once had) was turned off in stand by mode when it had older BIOS.
After I updated to new BIOS, the fan then ran all the time.
My desktop one stays on, but it's temperature-controlled so it will naturally slow down after being in standby for awhile. My super-SFF box 7Vs the PSU fan when it hits standby, as if it wasn't quiet enough already.
Would a power supply need it's fan when in standby?.....it wouldn't be using much power? If I wasn't sure I don't think I would go modding it to turn off......
