I have an ATI Radeon 9700 pro (a refurb from newegg) that came wiith the power pass-through connector that looks like a Y splitter.

Right now, I've connected the power cables as instructed, using the pass-through connector, and it's running without problems.

Question is, can I plug the floppy drive power connector directly to the card instead of going through the pass-through and the hard drive? I think it will tremendously reduce clutter in my case..

I have a floppy power connector plugged into my 9500 and it works perfect. That splitter was going to be too hard to hide.

I have a 9700pro as well, im currently using the splitter cable, but my PSU has two floppy power cables on it.
Next time i`m in my pc, i think i`ll try it with the floppy connector and take out the splitter.

yeah, just using the floppy driver power cable will work without any problems in a 9700 pro. I did it in mine
