Question about power consumption?

Does a 19' TV use more electricity than a computer + monitor with tv tuner. I have an energy compliant monitor and a regular pc, and I am considering to buy a tv card rather than a tv. Thanks for responding.

The 19" TV uses more, unless you have everything running at once on the puter. Usually with the TV card (As with mine) it uses absolutely minimal CPU cycles. The TV tuner digitizes the input and feeds it almost directly to the vid card. Little CPU for the software, but that is it.
