question about postage

Kev

Lifer
i know postage went up by 2 cents a few weeks ago. i have first class stamps that i bought before then that don't say 37cents, can i just use them or do i have to buy the stupid 2 cent stamps?

You must use the 2 cent stamps. The ones you bought may not have an explicit value, but they are recognized by the USPS as 37c (what you paid for them).

bah! they look just like the new 39c first class stamps! (statue of liberty) i hate stuff.

fvck it, im using 2 on each, i refuse to wait in line for 2 cent stamps.

THey normally have a letter or code on there somewhere that coresponds to the value of the stamp. If you don't put the 2 cent stamp on there they'll just get rejected and you'll have to but a whole new 39 center on there anyway.

that is what i do, just put double stamps on them, it isn't worth your time to hunt down a $0.02 stamp, your time it more valuable

I was planning on just putting two $.37er's too, but my husband stopped at the Post office and got a bok of $.02's for me. What a good guy.

hmmm no i have the statue of liberty that is in your first link, with no denomination. this is a huge predicament. i could be saving or losing 2 dollars here!

You can order 2 cent stamps from usps.com for those too busy/lazy to go to the post office. They charge a $1 delivery fee but considering some of you guys are paying double postage it would only take 3 letters to make up that difference. 🙂
