question about PNP motherboards in dos..

i am looking to build a low end pentium box to play all my old dos games that wont run anymore

here's my question:

if i get a plug n play motherboard, and am running DOS 6.22, am i going to be able to use non-PNP cards and have the drivers still work and everything?

or am i going to have to find some strange pentium motherboard that doesnt have PNP?

any help would be appreciated.. thanks
