Question About PCIe Connectors

There seem to be a number of PSU's in the 600 to 700W range with 2 PCIe connectors, usually 1 x 6 pin and 1 x 6+2 pin. Many are denoted SLI/Crossfire "Ready", with even a couple "ceritified". Since even most mid-range cards seem to require two 6 pin connectors, is the assumption that you will use molex-to-6 pin adapters for the other two plugs? Is this advisable?

Thanks!

You can crossfire cards such as the 6850 and the 6770 which have only one pci-e connector. I wouldn't use too many of those adapters unless the PSU has the wattage to handle it. Also I dont think two molex connectors can provide 75w so I definetly wouldnt use that as the main source of power for a powerful card. I advise using molex to power a card with two PCI-E connectors.
