Question about Paypal

I just sold an item on Ebay and the buyer paid through Paypal to my old non-working email address. Unfortunately, I forgot to change my email address payment preference in Ebay.

Will his payment get refunded to him since the payment account he sent the money to doesn't exist?

Yeah, I just called them but their service center is closed due to an "emergency". Does anyone know the answer to this? I really appreciate it.
