Question about paying for orthodontic work...

If someone were to get braces/invisalign (which costs $3000-9000 according to what ive found), do most orthodontists make you pay the full amount up front or can you pay over the course of treatment? I don't think I'd be able to secure a line of credit that large if I had to pay up front

with my braces, it was pay a certain percentage up front, then a monthly payment for the remaining amount

And what about medical insurance? You don't have it? I'm also going to visit a dentist and would like to find out if any insurance can save me from paying so much money from my own pocket. Haven't visited a dentist for a couple of years.

anyone know if invisalign is different? it might be because the dentist has to order the full set of molds in the beginning...guess ill find out tomorrow

From what I have heard, most insurance plans cover $1000 of orthodontic work and once you use it anytime in your life, they know and thats it. Mine was used up when I was like 9...

This sucks. Two years ago I had to fix only one tooth and it ran me more than $100 (just one filling).

Dentist prices are the reason I never fought with anyone. I always knew if someone took out my teeth, it would be several grand for an implant. And the procedure is ugly as hell as well - titan screw in one's jaw... Horrible.

my invisalign cost something like 3500$.. insurance covered 1000$ and im paying in installments..... if you want a 200$ discount off your invisalign (whever you decide to go) PM me

They definately have a payment plan you can do, or you can go through another source and get a loan. Or, if you have a Flexible Benefits plan, you can use that and have the company reimburst you some.

Placing dental implants is a very safe, simple, and pretty painless surgery actually. It sounds like its grotesque but it's really not bad.

Invisalign is even more expensive than normal braces and only works for minor adjustments. As ugly and uncomfortable braces are they are the best thing an orthodontist has at giving you the best results.
