Question about partitioning

I plan on using fdisk to repartition my hard drive soon. Right now I have a bunch of stuff on it and it's about 35% fragmented. If I make my new partitions with fdisk, will they be fragmented as well, or will they be fine since fdisk destroys all data anyway? I would imagine that with a partitioning program like partition magic, it would be necessary to defrag before running it to make sure that all the free space on the drive is together, which is where the new partitions will be placed. But im not sure with fdisk.

Also, I have never had a HDD with more than one windows partition on it... can one partition get fragmented a lot with the other unaffected, or does the whole disk get fragmented together? And can I defrag partitions separately, or is it done with the whole disk at a time? thanks for any help

when you fdisk, you will have to formate he drive
so the answer is no, they will not be fragmented
i don't know about partition magic

Fdisk will delete all stuff. You can use Partition Magic to repartition. Not sure if it will defragment. If you have 2 partitions, it will fragment seperately.
