Question about Palm PDAs

I'm wondering what is the oldest palm out on the market now. I've saw palm.com have a VIIx, but many other stores I've checked don't have that, they only have the Vx. And which one is newer, the Vx or VIIx?

Edit: And how long does it usually take for something like the VIIx to become obsolete and not be sold anymore?

The VIIx has wireless capability.

They came out in this order:

V
VII
Vx
VIIx

The x is just the 2nd generation of the product. The non-x flavor had less RAM and the OS wasn't upgradeable. (without sending the unit back to Palm for a fee)

The VIIx is cheap - it's like a cellphone, basically give it away and make money off the airtime.

Unless you intend on using the wireless connectivity of the Palm VIIx then definitely go for the Palm Vx, it's a no brainer. Even though it may seem cool to surf the Net wirelessly from your Palm VIIx beware the technology is slow, expensive, slow, expensive and very slow. Also not all websites are optimized to be viewed on the Palm's tiny tiny screen. The Palm Vx is still my favorite Palm PDA ever because of it's form factor, slim shape, razor sharp screen and rechargeable batteries.

I believe they're in the midst of replacing the VIIx with the new i735 or something like that. It's supposed to have the m500 design with the 'internet' capbilities. Just get an IPAQ with PC2002, simply awesome.
