I recently bought a computer claiming to have 800mhz FSB and HT, but I wasn't too sure. So, I checked the bios and found it was running at 533mhz, and also ran Sandsoft Sandra just to be sure. I'm not a hardware expert so I consulted someone who said that I would need special RAM to be able to run the 800mhz and HT. My ram is DDR 300mhz or something, and I'm fairly sure it's single channeled.

Thanks for any help,

Hamid M.

There is a utility you can download from Intel which will tell you whaich Processor you have. I will try to locate it and provide a link for u. ;)

[rdit]

Here you go. Download the correct version for your OS and dl the Windows version as opposed to the boot version...

Thanks, ive enjoyed reading the site and forums for a while. Im going to run that app and tell you the results; also, so the whole ram thing was bogus?

Edit:

System bus: 533mhz
CPU Type: O
CPU Family: F
CPU Model: 2

Thanks for the help. Looks like it is 533mhz after all...
