Question about overclocking my Athlon 1ghz proc.

I have overclocked my Athlon 1ghz to 1.2ghz. I just increased the fsb to 155. The temps since then have been anywhere from 116 f to 120 f and I was wondering if this is high or could cause prblems like burning up my proc.. I don't think its to high but just incase decided to ask. If the temps are ok then I am going to increase the fsb even more just to see how much I can get out of the proc.. I have gotten it to 1200mhz without changing anything accept the fsb speed but someone told me that I may (if I chose to go higher) need to increase the voltage to the proc. for it to be stable over 155fsb. If I do need to increase the voltage then how much of an increase would be appropriate? Thanx for the help.

Have you unlocked the processor and played around with changing the multiplier? 120F is well within spec of the processor so you really dont have to worry about anything there. I, however, like to keep my processors cooler than that. What kind of cooling setup do you have? I also have a 1.0 Athlon that is running at 1.323 under full load and it is only at 44C (111.2F) on an Iwill Ka266.

I am running the proc. on an MSI KT266Pro. The HSF is just the standard setup that came in my Athlon box (good fan not so good sink). I have not unlocked the processor, it seems a little bit tedious and can cause BIG problems if done wrong (correct?). I have a special bios "installed" that is sopecific for overclocking. Its supposed to make the board more stable under stress and it does for sure (still have to disable usb though which KINDA sucks. I was running 3DMark and it crashed (not from overclock proc but overclocking vid mem to far). I read the error log and it had a line of text which indicated that the max speed of my proc. was 1400mhz. Now maybe I read this wrong but is it possible to somehow tell using software what the max clock speed is (not for type but for specific installed proc.)? Later.
