Question about Overclocking an AM2

Well, I've been spending some time googling and crawling from etailer to manufacturer websites, and the only two CPU Air Coolers that I've been able to find that I know for sure will fit the AM2 Socket are the Zalman CNPS9500 AM2 and the Thermaltake CL-P0268.

I'm considering OC'ing a AM2 3800+ X2 - and I'd like to get to 2.6 GHz without burning up the CPU. Pleanty of folks have recommended the Scythe Ninja, but I've read that it doesn't fit. I've heard (Here) that the Scythe Mine` will fit, but Scythe's website doesn't list that as a feature.

Any help?
 
Get a Freezer 64 Pro; I'm currently using one in my overclcoked AM2 system with no problems. The installation is very easy; even easier than the stock AM2 heatsink I would say. I can do up to 3 GHz stable at 1.5V on the Freezer, but I feel that 2.66 GHz is more than enough for my needs right now.

Just so you know, the Freezer 64 pro isn't officially listed to fit AM2, but it does without issue, and if you don't believe me you can check madshrimps.be for their AM2 fit charts.
 
If you are just shooting for 2.6Ghz I would just spend the extra $35 or so on the 4200+ model that has the AMD copper heatpipe cooler included with it. It performs close to if not as well as an XP-90. Should be able to handle up to 1.5 volts and with the 11x multi of the 4200+ I would think you could hit 2.6 pretty easily.(Check to verify that the 4200+ does indeed come with the heatpipe cooler. AFAIK it does).

Not finding anything about a stock copper heatpipe on the 4200....

 
Thanks everybody. One last question - in a mid tower case, the mobo is mounted to the side of the case - lots of these aircoolers are heavy and tall - Is the torque placed on the CPU from the Cooler sitting sideways a risk? (I hope that made sense...)
