Question about overclocking a P4 2.53?

I have a P4 2.53 not SL6S2, it is a SL6DW 1.525 and C1 stepping.....
I would like to know how to overclock it?
and what is the max I can o/c?
can it be just using the standard HSF?
I am using ASUS P4PE mobo.....
if can overclock?
where to change the setting?
hope anyone can tell me please.....

Start by increasing the Front Side Bus in your motherboard's BIOS in increments of 3-5 MHz until the computer no longer boots or you have problems using Windows. Then back it off a little to where everything runs properly and you don't have weird issues or problems.

Nobody can tell you that. It varies from processor to processor. It's completely the luck of the draw!

Yes it can be done using the standard HSF, but you should pay extra attention to your processor temperatures. You don't want to end up cooking your processor. Anything over 60C under load you should begin to be worried.

you can also read some of the posts in this forum to see how ppl does their overclock...it's pretty standard =)
especially look for posts from this guy called THUGSROOK...and if you have more questions...u can always use the private messaging function to message anyone in this forum...we will help u as long as u need help.
