Good day,
I have a 32 or so inch CRT television that is 1080i capable via component video. I normally use it for retro gaming, but I want to expand its use to watching older tv shows and movies, most of which being 4:3 format, but some widescreen. The avenue I am going to use for connectivity is a roku stick attached to a HDMI to component video converter that can output 720p or 1080i to the CRT. I will use Netflix and PLEX mainly for watching the shows.

Questions:
- For a 4:3 format show coming out of Netflix such as Star Trek TNG, will this end up being in the correct aspect ratio on the TV after going through this conversion process?
- What about content starting as 16:9? I have never used the HD capability of this CRT and it is a 4:3 screen so I am just expecting black bars on top and bottom for widescreen shows.
- Will Plex likely function the same as Netflix with 4:3 shows fully filling the screen of the CRT after going through the HDMI to component conversion?
