Question about Open Office 2.0

I found Open Office, which seems to be a free way to edit and use spreadsheets, similar to Excel.. what advantages does Excel have over it? I have a spreadsheet that I simply need to fill out.
 
if you're using simple spreadsheets, it's fine.

Just a few compatibility issues (margins mainly) seem to get a bit off when porting from one to the other.
Excel is just more powerful, and has little things that make life easier.
I also heard Open Office has some security issues. :shrugs;
