Question About OGR Clients

Are the newer OGR clients (after 2.8010) more efficient than the 8010 client? I just had one of my computers running the 8010 client spend two hours processing a stub and the summary said it was only 2.16 GNodes. When I was using the 8012/13 clients, I could do that much in a few minutes.

The clients newer than 8010 are about 10% faster on Intel P2, P3 and Celeron CPUs. Don't be fooled by the time that it takes to process an OGR WU, because they vary greatly in size.
The best comparison is the nodes/sec which shows in the client console.

Hope this helps, and thanx for counting OGR rulers with TA! :D

There is some logic built into the OGR calculations that will stop work before it actually finishes the stub because it has been proven "longer" than a known stub. (therefore, there is no reason to continue)

The overall GNodes/sec should stay the same for stats purposes, but the number of stubs done per day can vary greatly.

Just a reminder that the only released client is the 8010. The 8011 and 8012 are not recommended (and the WU completed with the latter will be disallowed in the near future). The 8013 client is only good for a week before it kills itself apparently.
