So i'm a n00b to overclocking and i'm using Rage3D Tweak v3.8 to overclock my video card. I have a p4 1.7ghz with 384mb of RDRam.

When I go to the overclocker tab, my current settings are at:

Core Clock: 249.75 mhz
Memory Clock: 380.25 mhz

Everything i can find for suggested overclocks for this card is like 275/275 or 300/300. How can the default settting be at 380.25? I'm completely lost! HELP! PLEASE!

It's actually at 190, you can say 380, but try to overclock to 225, or 250 you might be able to get that. IF your lucky. 250/250 would be nice. I don't think your going to get to 275/275, but then again you might get lucky.

Before someone starts screaming, it's at 380, I dunno if that's double pumped or what? But you might get it to 500 if you wanna look at it that way. I see people refer to the speeds both ways.

Did you get a Powercolor card? They seem to like to sell cards that fall somewhere (sometimes alot) below stock speeds.

Radeon 9000's have overclocking protection in the BIOS. That is probably causing that behavior.
