Question about Nvidia Pure Video

I downloaded and installed the 30 day trial. The only thing I've tried so far is mpegs, but to be honest I don't see any improvement. The Pure Video decoding is automatic as long as I'm using WMP, right? Or, is there a way you have to activate it when you start WMP? I thought it was automatic, am I wrong?

My card is 7900 GTX and WMP is version 10. Well, I'll go try it with a DVD and see if that's any better.

You should see the Nvidia icon in the system tray when the purevideo decoder is running.

Whether you see any difference depends on how good of performace you were getting with your previous decoder, how critical your PQ "eye" is, the quality of your display and the source material you are decoding.

It should look very good with DVD's from my experience.

Well Purevideo doesn't really help much with avi or mpeg files but yes if you use WMP, then Purevideo will be used to decode DVDs. You can also set up custom playback using the Purevideo decoder using Zoom Player.

It has from my experience helped with WMV HD playback especially when I use Intervideo WinDVD . . .

Yeah, I just tried it with a DVD(Revenge of the Sith). It did seem to improve the quality a bit.
