I have noticed that recently there have been half as many people logged on at one time as there were before, and I was wondering if on the subscriber server it only shows how many people are logged onto it, or how many people are on the forums (subscriber and non-subscriber) total. TIA

I would tend to think it would show all the people logged in (sub + non-sub)... But good question, i'd like to know the answer as well...

Logged in users are everyone sub or not, but thats still abotu 1/3 of the online users on the forums if that.

I've seen myself show up as "not logged on" before, though... are there situations in which a user could be logged on and connected to AT (i.e. actively viewing threads, etc.), but not show up as logged on?

You have to actually log on to be logged in, not just browsing, anyone can read threads, logged in or not.

Is the ratio of browsers to logged-in people increasing? The forums seem to be slower with the same number of people logged in than when the bandwidth limit was implemented. Or is the bandwidth limit lower than it used to be?

right. I was talking about when I was still logged in and browsing messages but it showed me as not being logged in.

I've noticed that too. The other day after I had posted a message it was still showing my little light bulb as blue.

right. that's exactly what I was talking about. I wonder how it's determined whether one is 'logged in'? Any activity within X minutes, I guess? But then it obviously doesn't work perfectly if it wants to count posting a message (the most 'active' activity I can think of) as 'activity'.
