question about ntfs and fat32

mangled

Senior member
I'm reinstalling WinXP and used to use Fat32. Reformatting the system drive as NTFS. I have a second hard drive I haven't reformatted that just contains data, but it's Fat32. will I be able to move the files from the fat32 drive back on to the system drive which will be ntfs and work with them?

great. just worried that photos or backup files I have on the fat32 drive would be unreadble by the programs on the ntfs drive.

You don't have to reformat your 2nd partition if you don't want. XP can convert it for you without any data loss.

convert x: /fs:ntfs

at a command prompt with x: being the drive letter.
