Question about notebook CPU

Hi, I'm looking to buy a cheap notebook now.
I saw some notebooks come with the new i3 serial CPU while others are still using P6200, P8400 or P8700. I don't know much about these CPUs, but from the mobile benchmark list at notebookcheck.net, it seems even i3-370 will beat P8700 on calculation speed. Could you give me your suggestion on which type CPU is better? The notebook is just for web surf, light photo editing, and some solitaire style games.

Either is honestly fine if you're just going to use it for web browsing and other light usage. The i3 has hyper threading and on-die graphics built in which may give it an edge for a few different workloads.

It may be more worthwhile to consider the other specs such as RAM, GPU, etc. more so than the CPU.

As is said all over these forums, if you can afford to wait a short while, see what SB brings to the table. Most likely could get a bangin' CPU with an ondie GPU suitable for your needs.
