Question about Nintendo DS and playing on a campus Wi-Fi network

I'm interested in getting a Nintendo DS, and I had a quick question.

My campus has a wireless network, whenever someone wants to use it (from a laptop), they go straight to a splash screen, where they have to type in their username and password. I've also tried running P2P software on the network, but it doesn't work, just web browsing it seems like. Besides this splash screen login, I don't think think that WEP or WPA security is enabled.

I'm wondering if I will be able to use the Nintendo DS to play games wirelessly on this network. Thank you for any help!

Im going to wait and get the nintendo DS lite coming late june.. ive read some great things about this new unit. Im a real sucker for mario games and the new SMB game sounds great!

I've never tried to connect to such a network with my DS so I don't know, but IF it doesn't work, just buy and hook up a "Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector" to a WinXP PC that is already logged onto the network and you should be set.
